Read This Before You Go To Coachella

You've been planning the logistics for months. You have your ticket, your accommodations, and your travel plans all set. But what you might not know is that the more you put into your Coachella experience the more you will get out of it. The more you research the lineup and make sure you have right gear the more time you will spend enjoying the festival. Lucky for you, you have me. After attending 14 Coachella's in the last 8 years I'm here to give you a quick rundown on how to maximize your experience.

The most important thing you need to do before Coachella is RESEARCH THE LINEUP. There are eight stages to choose from so being at the right one for your music taste is paramount to maximizing your festival weekend. The second most common mistake is wearing the wrong cloths. Sure, you might look great but if you are too hot or too cold then you will not enjoy your experience. Be prepared for both extremes so you are always comfortable and ready to party. Comfortable shoes is also a must as you'll spend the entire day on your feet.

The next thing Coachellagoers need to recognize is that your actions directly impact the experience of the people around you. Together we make the festival fun or frustrating. Be conscious of when you are blocking others view and apologize if you bump into someone. The biggest way you can make a difference is to pick up after yourself and remind the people around you to do the same.

Some people at Coachella have not realized that their actions impact everyone around them. Here is a video of a negative encounter I had last year. While the encounter was not a positive one the lessons learned from it really were.

If you leave a mess then other people have to deal with it which takes away from their experience. Together we are Coachella. 100,000 of us go to have the time of our lives. The more of us that set an example and remind the people around us to do our part, the more fun the festival will be for all of us.
